Rage in the Cage – RITC 140 – Amateur MMA
RITC 140 took place on March 20th, 2010 at the Gila River Casino in Chandler, Arizona. RITC featured 32 of the southwest’s top amateur MMA fighters including current RITC Heavyweight champion Richard Hale, heavyweight contender Mike Zanski, and middleweights Joe Cronin and Charlie Brown.
There was a nice mix between high octane style fights and the more technical. Eight of the bouts scheduled on RITC 140 ended in exciting fashion within the first rounds of competition. Three bouts were left to the hands of the judges, while three others ended during the third round. Rising middleweight contender Charlie Brown executed a perfect triangle choke to tap out his opponent early in the first round of their bout. In the end it was Richard Hale successfully defending his Heavyweight title by submitting his opponent with a guillitione choke early into the third round.
