Brendan Schaub battled through the Ultimate Fighter (TUF) season 10 by posting three convincing victories, all of which came through early stoppages. Brendan Schaub defeated Demicio Rogers, Jon Madsen and Marcus “Big Baby” Jones, and now faces Roy “Big Country” Nelson in the Ultimate Fighter, TUF 10 Finale which shall be held on December 5th, 2009 at The Palms Casino Resort in Las Vegas, Nevada – broadcasted live on Spike TV.

Brendan Schaub the Athlete
Prior to launching his career as a mixed martial artist, Brendan Schaub was a stand-out football player. Born and raised in Colorado, Schaub quickly recgonized his skills in team-sports competition by where he excelled in high school as an all-state football and lacrosse player. Brendan Schaub went on to play fullback at the University of Coloardo. After college, Schaub had a brief career in the AFL and the Utah Blaze as well as with the Buffalo Bills.
Whittier College (CA): 2001-2002
Brendan Schaub played lacrosse and football in his freshman and sophomore seasons of collegiate athletics. Schaub was named freshman of the year on Whittier’s football team where he played tight end, catching six passes for 94 yards. His sophomore year, Schaub had 16 receptions for 180 yards (100 YAC).
Colorado Buffaloes: 2003 – 2005
Schaub red-shirted in 2003 (transfer), and played on special teams in 2004. During his senior season, Schaub was primarily used on special teams – where he blocked one punt against Kansas, Schaub was also the number two fullback on the depth chart.

Brendan Schaub, 26 is a mixed martial artist at heart. According to Schaub’s website, he grew up studying TaeKwonDo under the guidance of his father, a 2nd degree black belt in the martial art. While in college, Brendan Schaub started practicing the art of Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu to stay in shape during the off-seasons. After his college career, Schaub took up boxing and quicly realized that he was a natural as both a boxer and a BJJ practictioner. In 2008, Brendan Schaub successfully tested his skills in both arts, by winning both the Coloardo Golden Gloves championship – Heavyweight as well as the Colorado Open BJJ tournament.
The Ring of Fire was Brendan Schaub’s first mixed martial arts test. He defeated his first opponent in the first round via TKO from strikes. Schaub then went on to win his next three fights, including a bout which earned him the Ring of Fire heavyweight championship. All of Brendan Schaub’s sanctioned fights have been stopped in the first round due to TKO finishes. Now Brendan Schaub looks to add to his growing list of MMA accolades by earning a six figure title with the UFC, by defeating the MMA veteran, Roy Nelson.
