What's Your Story?: I've been wrestling since I was 5 years old, I started out doing camps and peewee stuff, and I couldn't wait to wrestle in Middle and High School. I have always been an excellent wrestler, however my lack of drive and motivation has made it difficult for me, as I lack the incentive to get into the weight room and put my time in. However after getting two letters in High school that I feel I did not earn, I lost interest in wrestling. In the summer of 2009, I saw my first UFC match, the famed Gryffin vs. Bonnar fight from the Ultimate Fighter. I remember watching it from beginning to end without moving (I don't think I even blinked), and I asked myself, "Where did this come from?!?". To my surprise, the sport of MMA had been around for 14 years! I returned to wrestling with renewed vigor, determined to become a world class wrestler, in hopes of one day being part of the UFC myself. I began to incorporate Muy Thai, Street Fighting, Boxing, and Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu into my training regimen (Though my heart will always belong to wrestling). In my training, I have become a strong boxer, and with Muay Thai techniques and clinch fighting in my arsenal, I am as dangerous a striker as I am a grappler. I train daily even in the off season to be the best that I can be, this includes a self-invented combination of bodyweight exercises, sparring, conditioning, and weight lifting. I also make regular use of a heavy bag to practice my strikes I routinely condition my knuckles and elbows by striking a wooden 4x4 100 times daily. The bloodied area on the wooden post where I practice serves as a reminder of the time and work I've put into preparing myself to become an Ultimate Fighting Champion.
